Set up the API configuration in Protecht ERM

  • Enable the Workflow API feature in System Configuration
  • Create a new API configuration specifically for Workato integrations

Copy and configure the Workato recipe

  • Access the Workato Community Library and locate the recipe for MS Teams incident notifications
  • Save the recipe to a project folder in Workato

Connect Microsoft Teams to Workato

  • Sign in with a Microsoft Azure Global Administrator account
  • Select the required API permissions to authorise the connection

Define a security secret key

  • Set up a unique secret key in Workato for secure API calls
  • Use Project Properties to store the key securely

Retrieve the Workato webhook URL

  • Copy the webhook URL from Workato and modify it for Protecht ER
  • Remove the base URL segment, keeping only the unique identifier

Create workflow rules in Protecht ERM

  • Define conditions for when the incident notification should trigger (e.g. new incident reported)
  • Set the action type to API Request and enter the Workato webhook endpoint
  • Add the secret key to the request header for authentication
  • Customize the JSON payload to include relevant incident details

Verify successful integration

  • Create a new incident entry in the Incident and Breach Management module.
  • Confirm that a Teams notification is generated.
  • Click the Teams message link to navigate directly to the incident in Protecht ERM
