Set up the API configuration in Protecht ERM
- Enable the Workflow API feature in System Configuration
- Create a new API configuration for Workato integrations
Copy and configure the Workato recipe
- Access the Workato Community Library and locate the Protecht compliance notifications recipe
- Save the recipe to a project folder for easy access and management
Connect Microsoft Teams to Workato
- Sign in with a Microsoft Azure Global Administrator account
- Select the required API permissions to enable secure data transfer
Define a security secret key
- Create a unique secret key in Workato for added security
- Store the key securely in Project Properties within Workato
Retrieve and configure the Workato webhook URL
- Copy the webhook URL from Workato and modify it for Protecht ERM
- Remove the base URL segment, keeping only the required endpoint for API calls
Create workflow rules in Protecht ERM
- Define conditions for when the compliance notification should trigger (e.g. new compliance action assigned)
- Set the action type to API Request and enter the Workato webhook endpoint
- Add the secret key to the request header for authentication
- Customise the JSON payload to include compliance details such as due dates and assigned users
Verify successful integration
- Manually generate a compliance entry in the Compliance module for testing
- Confirm that a Teams notification is generated, providing real-time updates
- Click the Teams message link to navigate directly to the compliance entry in Protecht ERM
