DORA and CBI: Prioritising and consolidating delivery

The European Digital Operational Resilience Act has led to a focus among Irish financial services institutions and their suppliers on meeting its requirements. But it isn’t due to apply until January 2025, whereas the Central Bank of Ireland’s guidance for Operational Resilience and for Outsourcing must be met by December 2023.

Given DORA’s relatively long implementation window, there are obvious benefits to prioritising the implementation of the CBI guidance. However, when looking at the significant interlinkage between DORA, Outsourcing and Operational Resilience guidance, it’s also important to consolidate these programmes as much as possible.
